So what is COV
anyway?
COV, or Community Outreach of Villanova is a weekly outreach
program that works with several different organizations in the
Philadelphia area by bringing Villanova students to volunteer at
their site.
Great! So what opportunities do I have
to get involved?
All your opportunities are listed right here on this board.
They’re separated by day of the week, so just pick something that
looks interesting to you and sign up!
How do I get to these activities? Do I need
to have a car?
After signing up for whichever program you’d like to
participate in, you show up here, in the basement of St. Rita’s at
the designated start time for the activity. Group leaders and
other volunteers will meet you and together you will drive a van
to the site.
This sounds great, but I’m pretty busy, do I
need to go every week?
COV provides great opportunities for you to get involved with
the Philadelphia community and build strong relationships with the
people you will be helping. There is no obligation to participate
every week, so come as often as you can! Try to be sure your group
leader knows if there’s a week you’re not available so everyone’s
not waiting around for you to leave!
Who is eligible to participate?
Any student, at any time! With the exception of the RUIBAL
Challenge which is reserved for freshmen, anybody of any grade or
gender is welcome to be a part of COV.
Do I need to apply?
No way! No one likes tests and there certainly isn’t one to
prove how much you want to help Philadelphia be a better place!
Your only requirement is that you know how to write your name on
the sign up sheet!
I have another question that I don’t think
you know the answer to...
Well, that happens often, so take a walk down the hall to
Will's office or give him a call at (610) 519-5178 and he will be
able to answer any further questions you might have.
