FOCUS Christian Fellowship

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial that you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed." (1 Peter 4:12-13)

Group Information

FOCUS Christian Fellowship is a place to learn about and experience God through others. Whether you are a regular church goer, someone who has never learned anything about God, or a person who has had a bad church experience, but has heard amazing things and wants to learn more, this is the place to do it. Focus consists of songs, talks, and reflections in small groups. You are able to participate in as much or as little as you wish; we will just be happy that you came and hope that you have a worthwhile experience.

Meetings every Monday, 8:00 p.m. in St. Rita's Chapel.

Joby Jacob,
Senior, Biology & Pre-Med Major

"My name is Joby and I'm a Pre-Med major here at Villanova and I'm one of the leaders of FOCUS. Basically what we do at focus is worship God in song, worship God in prayer and we worship God in Word. One of the students, probably one of us or outside campus ministry comes and talks about their experiences and relationship with Jesus and they are speaking the word. We strengthen each other and we fellowship together. Like some people say, iron sharpens iron. What we do is we help each other out. College is very hard and many people go through many hard things in college and we help each other out. We spread the love of God. God Bless and I hope you can join us.

Andrew Stiffler,
Junior, Communication Major

"Hello Villanova, I'm Andrew Stiffler and I'm a sophomore. I actually want to give you an overview of what Christian fellowship is. Christian fellowship offers an informal environment with a great atmosphere. There's a lot of great people and I've made a lot of great friends throughout this year. With Christian fellowship, it's a chance to foster your relationship with God. Even if you don't have a relationship with God, you can come create one. More importantly, Christian fellowship challenges myself and everyone else to become a better Christian and experience the reward of Christ. So I challenge everyone out there to come out to Christian fellowships Mondays at 8pm."

"Focus to me is just a place where I can get away and leave temptation for a little bit. I know I'm not always proud of the things that I do, and it's really a place to just reflect on what you can do better, share any problems that you might have, anything that you might be struggling with. I know in the past that I would stand in the corner and not really get involved. But I know that as I've gotten involved and branched out a little bit, I know that my faith and my strength in God have increased greatly just increased incredibly by attending this group. So, I encourage you to come out, maybe let your guard down for a little bit, come out and fun, maybe share some time with some people who have the same beliefs as you. I know it was kind of a spur of the moment thing for me and it's really worked out. So bring a friend and hopefully I'll be seeing you around."

Cayce Lista,
Sophomore, English & Spanish Major

"Hi my name is Cayce Lista and I'm a Freshman English and Spanish major. I really can't say enough about how awesome Focus is. Pretty much Focus is a great opportunity to hang out with other dedicated believers, to discover new truths and old truths that maybe you needed to be reminded of about your faith. Focus has helped me to to center in on how I should be worshipping, it's helped me to find  a Christian mentor, and it's helped me to find a lot of good friends to hang out with that I know will have the same value system as I do and I know that I can share bases of faith with."
