Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law offers a number of degrees, some in coordination with other departments of Villanova University:
Villanova's curriculum offers sound training for the practice of law. Courses are designed to teach not only rules of law, but also how lawyers analyze, express themselves, perform many of their functions, and solve problems, as well as how legal institutions operate. The course of study consists of three full-time consecutive years.
Offered in collaboration with Villanova's top-ranked School of Business, the Reza Taleghani JD/MBA Program is designed to provide careful integration of the two disciplines and to allow students to earn both degrees in a reasonable amount of time.
Students in this program earn both the JD and the graduate law degree in taxation in less time and at a reduced cost than would be required to earn the degrees separately. Following the award of the JD degree, students in this program may be able to complete the LLM in one additional semester.
Joint programs offered with universities in London, Edinburgh, Leiden (The Netherlands), Singapore and Hong Kong allow students to earn both a JD and an international LLM in three years. After two years at Villanova, the third year is spent abroad.
The interdisciplinary graduate tax program is offered jointly by Villanova Law and the University's School of Business. Completion of this program can result in either an LLM or an MT (Master of Tax).
Obtaining both a JD and Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree prepares students to become future leaders in the public and nonprofit sectors. Students typically begin their MPA studies after their first year of law school and may be able to obtain both degrees in three years.
