The College of Engineering has embarked on an effort to promote the
Augustinian philosophy of service to our community both internal and
external to the University. The College has instituted a new initiative
titled the Villanova Engineering, Science,
Technology, Enrichment, and
Development program (VESTED).
VESTED seeks to increase each student's
technical literacy and provide a valuable real world experience in
engineering and technology. At the core of the program, is the
community-based VESTED-Mentor Academy
which involves a three part
training model including:
- classroom instruction
- activities
- mentoring
from industry experts,
- summer internships at premier local companies.
This unique and comprehensive model broadens students' knowledge in
today's global, digital economy.
The VESTED Program:
- provides an after-school and
Saturday engineering, technology and science education program
for underrepresented youth in the Philadelphia region
- offers a comprehensive four week
summer program that emphasizes hands-on exploration of
engineering and technology
- enhances high school teacher
training in math and science subjects to improve instruction
methods and knowledge about careers in engineering and technology.

The VESTED Program
- Elevates Villanova University's commitment to community,
services and globalization through the humanizing of engineering.
- Creates an additional opportunity for Villanova College of
Engineering faculty and students to participate in service projects
in our greater Philadelphia community and around the world.
