The goal of the Center is to facilitate the transformation of knowledge into innovations that will create new wealth & strengthen the regional economy, by planning & implementing a new model that creates a community utilizing research, technology, education, and commerce to leverage the resources of the individual partners.
The Center's Functions
The Center for Advanced Communications performs a number of functions, both within the industrial and scholastic community. These include:
- Performing research and development in the areas of information technologies, communication technologies, and
sensor technologies based on corporate and government needs.
- Providing education and training based on the intersection between the R & D application area and the academic discipline involved.
- Evaluating the transfer and deployment of knowledge and the factors that may enable or inhibit the technologies. Thus the Center has and will continue to
support both single- and multi-disciplinary projects.
- Convening conferences and workshops to strengthen the information and communication infrastructure in the Delaware Valley. The purpose of these activities is to accelerate the realization of the Center/Corporation vision in the form of knowledge and products.
