The Villanova Center for the Environment (VCE) is committed to environmental stewardship at local, national and global levels. Through research, development and educational activities, multidisciplinary teams of faculty and students from engineering and sciences work together to address increasingly complex environmental issues. VCE seeks to foster and facilitate interaction and partnerships between university researchers and students, industry, governments, communities and school districts.

The research areas of the Center include:

  • pollution prevention and decontamination of water, wastewater, air and soil
  • storm water management and water quality
  • energy efficiency and renewable energy
  • chemical sensors
  • resource conservation and sustainable development
  • biodiversity assessments, conservation biology, and biological effects of water, air and soil pollution
