Villanova's chemical engineering curriculum develops a fundamental scientific and technical understanding, as well teamwork, ethical values and interpersonal skills. This combination makes our graduates highly successful within the multitude of career paths they enter – not only in traditional technical positions, but also such divergent fields as medicine, law, business and commerce. Many of our graduates use their education as a stepping stone to earning an advanced degree, either in
chemical engineering or in a variety of other disciplines.
Through the years, graduates of the Chemical Engineering Department have
contributed to advancements in a wide range of technologies. Their scientific
and leadership skills have enabled them to succeed in industries based on a
variety of products: chemicals, petroleum and energy, nano-and advanced
materials, pharmaceuticals, micro-electronics and consumer products.
Graduates have contributed to scientific advancement in such diverse areas as
chemistry, biochemistry, medicine and biomedical engineering, material science,
and environmental science.
