A student admitted into the Engineering College graduate program may choose
to complete a four-course certificate program in one or all of the following
subject areas:
- Environmental Protection in the Chemical Process Industries
- Biotechnology
- Biochemical Engineering
Although many Chemical Engineering graduate students choose one of these areas
of concentration during their graduate studies, it is not necessary to complete
a certificate program as part of the graduate degree in Chemical Engineering. It is also not necessary to
complete the graduate degree in Chemical Engineering to receive a certificate. Some
students choose only to complete the four courses required for a particular
certificate and not pursue the Master's degree. In either case, a graduate
student who completes the four courses in a certificate program with an overall
GPA of 3.0 or higher in those courses will receive a certificate indicating the
successful completion of the certificate program.
