CEE 8102 Foundation Engineering
This course would be of interest to
students specializing in structural and geotechnical engineering. Deep
foundations, bulkheads, soil-structure interaction and advanced topics in soil
behavior and stability.
CEE 8103 Geosynthetics
This course would be of interest to students
specializing in structural, environmental, transportation, water resources, and
geotechnical Engineering. Design of civil engineering structures, such as
retaining walls and landfills, using geosynthetics for reinforcement, drainage,
filtration, separation, and containment
CEE 8104 Geoenvironmental Engineering
This course would be of interest
to students specializing in environmental and geotechnical engineering. Sources
and types of contamination, remedial investigations, and remedial measures
including in-situ treatment and containment.
CEE 8105 Advanced Soil Mechanics
This course would be of interest to
students specializing in transportation, structural, and geotechnical
Engineering. Select topics in soil behavior, soil stability, and geotechnical
design.
CEE 8311 Environmental Geology
This course would be of interest to
students specializing in structural, environmental, transportation, water
resources, and geotechnical engineering. The geological environment and the
works of man; the geology of Pennsylvania and vicinity; interaction between
geology and engineering work, the resulting problems and their solutions.
