The graduate program in Structural Engineering is designed to allow students
to pursue advanced study in structural design, mechanics and analysis,
structural dynamics, and other related subjects. The curriculum offers a balance
of design, analysis, and theory, with emphasis placed on modern structural codes
and practical applications.
Students in this program pursue the Master of
Science in Civil Engineering (MCE) degree. The program is designed for part-time
or full-time study, with courses offered in the evenings.
Under the guidance of the advisor, a student will arrange a Plan of Study. A
student concentrating in structural engineering must satisfactorily complete:
- Two courses from the Structural Design group listed below, one of which
must be
CEE 8435 - Reinforced Concrete
Reinforced Concrete or
CEE 8437 - Structural Steel
Structural Steel
- Two courses from the Mechanics and Analysis group
-
CEE 8434 - Structural Dynamics
Structural Dynamics
