Significant experimental research has been completed at Villanova since 1998.
A variety of research projects related to Concrete, Steel, and Wood, has been
conducted under the supervision of faculty. These projects have involved a large
number of undergraduate and graduate students, and have led to the completion of
several Master's theses.
Most experimental research at Villanova is focused on the fundamental
understanding of structural behavior, with an emphasis on the application of
that understanding to the design process. Additional research has focused on
improving the performance of structures under severe loading or environmental
conditions. Overall, these projects have led to numerous archival publications
and presentations at technical conference.
