The College of Engineering offers a full-time dual degree program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Electrical Engineering. The two degrees are awarded simultaneously upon completion of all requirements for both degrees. Because of the significant overlap between the two programs it is possible to earn both degrees in four and a half years. This program offered by Villanova University is fully accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

Students in the electrical engineering program acquire a working knowledge of computers and their applications by studying algorithms, programming, and the design and interfacing of computers.

The microcomputer laboratory program provides hands on experience with software and hardware interfacing techniques.

Senior electives provide applications of computer-aided analysis and design, simulation, and real-time laboratory processing in areas such as:

  • Systems
  • Control
  • Communications
  • Signal processing
  • Microwave circuits

Selection of specializations and electives require each student to assume an active and responsible role in the planning and decision making as the program unfolds. .

Minors in  Computer Engineering

Students interested in a CE minor have to complete seven courses.

Minors and Concentrations

Qualified electrical and computer engineers may pursue a concentration or minor. In order to meet the requirements, the student may take summer courses that have been pre-approved by the ECE department.
