FAQs for Current Undergraduate Students
What is the criteria for Dean's List?

The criteria for achieving Dean's List status is outlined in our Engineering Policies.

How many credits must I have in order to progress in student class? Credit Range Classification for students in the College of Engineering (there is no distinction by major) is as follows:
FR = 0 through 31 credits
SO = 32 through 64 credits
JR = 66 through 96 credits
SR = 97 and above.

Can I change my email address?
You cannot change your email address unless you officially change your name with the University.  You can complete a Name or ID Change for students through the Office of the Registrar.

How do I change my mailing address?
You can complete an Address Change Form for students through the Office of the Registrar.

How do I change my email password?
If you know your email password but want to change it, you can use the Self-Service Reset Password option.  If you do not know your email password, you must stop by Vasey Hall 101 to show your Wildcard in order to get your password reset.

What is Novasis?
Novasis (Nova Student Information System) maintains all of your academic, demographic and financial information at Villanova.  You can log into Novasis using your email ID but you will need a Novasis password. If you do not know your Novasis password (different from your email password), you can reset it here by clicking on Secure Login, and the link "Don't know your Novasis Pin?". This will allow you to get your Novasis password information.

How do I get my Student ID number?
Your Student ID (example:  00654321) can be found my logging into Novasis using your email ID.  This Student ID should be used on every document or reference that you would normally use for your Social Security Number.  For security reasons, Villanova does not use SSN's to identify a student.

Where do I get a new student ID card (Wildcard)?
The Wildcard Office is located on the 1st Floor of Dougherty Hall.  You can also visit the Wildcard web site for more options for your Wildcard.  You can also change the picture on your Wildcard online, for a fee.

I took AP courses in high school but didn't take credit.  How can I take credit for these courses?

Our College Policy for course credit is outlined in detail on this web site.  Keep in mind that your score reports must be sent to Villanova University from the testing center, in order for you to receive any credit for which you may qualify.

Is there a minimum GPA requirement for an Engineering student?  If so, what happens if I fall below it?
Yes, the College of Engineering policy states that Engineering students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 in both cumulative and technical GPAs.  At the conclusion of each semester, students who have fallen below the minimum 2.0 GPA, will have their academic record reviewed by the Academic Standing Committee for recommendation and action. Can engineering students minor in something outside of Engineering?
Engineering students can choose from approximately 50 minors and concentrations offered throughout the University and we encourage students to do so.

How can I change my major?
Engineering students who wish to change their major within the College of Engineering must make this request in writing to the Dean of Engineering. Engineering students who wish to change their major to an area outside of engineering must apply for admission to the dean of the college offering that program.

If you would like to change your major to Engineering from another college within the university, you must contact the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs in the College of Engineering.

How do I apply to a B.S./M.S. degree program?

Current Villanova students should complete the graduate paper applicationPDF iconand submit it directly to the department of the program to which you are applying.  Applying online is not an option, at this time.

How do I go about getting into a study abroad program?
Engineering students do have the opportunity to study abroad, and to facilitate those opportunities, the Office of International Studies offers information sessions four days a week, twice a day, so there are plenty of opportunities to get information about studying abroad. Students who are interested in studying abroad should speak with their advisers as soon as possible, to map out what courses they must take at Villanova, and what courses they could take abroad.
