Learning Opportunities
Many
professional certification programs
are offered through the
Office of Continuing Studies which works
with associations to provide relevant courses employing industry standards.
Our newest programs include the certificate in Global Human Resources in
Center City and a certificate for payroll professionals.
Some courses begin very soon and others are offered throughout the semester,
such as the weekend Project Management courses. Call 610-519-4310 for details on these public offerings
or to request an on-site educational program.
The division of
Part-Time Studies (PTS) serves adult students who want
courses to earn college credit.
Students can choose accelerated courses starting mid-semester or traditional or on-line courses which
lead to certificates and degrees, such as our newest degree
in Media and Technology.

The College of Nursing
offers the
Health and Human Values lecture series which begins on
September 10th with a presentation on the Swine Flu. For more
information about the lectures,
directions, or to be added to the mailing list, call (610) 519-4900. Additionally, the College of Nursing provides
non-credit certificates
including these upcoming courses.
Career/Recruiting
The University
Career Services Office helps employers connect to students in a
variety of ways, including on-line recruiting. Their next Career Fair will be
on September 16th
and will be followed by an event for recruiting nurses on December 2nd.
If you are job hunting, Villanova hosts the career group,

which offers free
career tips and networking for professionals. They meet on the 2nd Saturday of
the month at Villanova University. Please pre-register.
Open
House and Information Sessions
The Graduate and Part-time
Undergraduate
Open House
will be held on October 20th. All colleges will participate. Attendees
can speak with faculty, attend seminars and will receive an application fee
waiver.

The Fall
Cultural
Film Series begins with Price of Life,
a
documentary, filmed by a group of undergraduate Villanova students. It depicts
the transformation of a Philadelphia ex-offender into a leader of community
change and a spokesperson for the National Comprehensive Center for Fathers.
Villanova Theatre
proudly announces its 2009-2010 season. Productions include: The Zoo Story
-- September 22 – October 4, 2009; As You Like It -- November 10
– 22 ;
Medea --
February 2 – 14, 2010;
and Annie Get Your Gun -- March 23 – 28 and April 6-18.

With the help of students in the College of Engineering,
an 80-year-old dormitory
has been renovated to become the University’s first green dorm. The
installation of the campus’ first geothermal well was a key step in that
process. The ground source heat pump system will support a portion of the
building’s heating and cooling and provide learning and research opportunities
