Course Registration

Registration Procedure

  • Each student should view his or her NOVASIS account to check:
  • Academic Advisement precedes registration and should occur well in advance of your time appointment for registration. Contact your assigned academic advisor to discuss your academic program requirements. Your academic advisor will issue you a term specific Registration PIN which will allow you to enter the registration area of NOVASIS on or after your registration time appointment.

  • Before your time appointment for registration, you should check the Schedule of Classes in NOVASIS for open sections of the courses that have been approved by your advisor. Be sure to have backup options in case the sections or courses that you want are closed.

  • You are ready to register now that you have consulted with your academic advisor, obtained your Registration PIN and checked the availability of open sections. At or after your time appointment you will enter the registration drop/add area of NOVASIS. Follow the registration instructions and check your schedule carefully upon completion of registration.

New Registration Information Effective Immediately

Students are only permitted to register for courses approved by their advisor. In addition, registration must occur only for the individual's use. Registration in courses for which a student has already taken and received a passing grade is prohibited unless approved by his/her college. The only exception to this is registration for courses that are repeatable such as a "topics" course. Registration for courses not approved by an advisor can result in removal from the course at the discretion of the Registrar with no prior warning to the student. Registration for courses that have already been taken and passed by a student will result in the removal from the course with no prior warning to the student.

Students who are identified as holding a seat for a fellow student and students who are identified as adding the "held" course will be subject to registration penalties in the subsequent term.
