Beyond Ideas was designed to educate and excite students about entrepreneurship, and teach students concrete skills that will assist them in turning their ideas into reality. The program was created specifically for Villanova undergraduate and graduate students and designed to introduce the fundamental concepts and skill sets critical to entrepreneurial success.
Year of Mendel
In 2008, we celebrated the Year of Mendel. The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences celebrated the 80th anniversary of the Mendel Medal with a year-long celebration devoted to Mendel’s lasting impact on scientific discovery and exploration, the concept of sustainability, and an in-depth look at Mendel himself, the man known widely as the Father of Modern Genetics. A revolutionary himself, Mendel was an Augustinian friar, a naturalist, and a botanist who undertook experiments in the 19th century that have helped shape the world’s collective understanding of genes, crossbreeding, and hereditary.
Villanova University is pleased to announce the AIS Conference, an international conference
celebrating the Center's 25th anniversary.
Cultural Film & Lecture Series
Villanova's Cultural Film & Lecture Series (CFS), founded by retired Professor Emeritus Joan D. Lynch, is run by a committee comprised of faculty, administrators, staff and students.
Twenty films per year are shown, and an equal number of lectures/discussions are given. The series is supported through ticket sales and a budget which is allocated by the university's Student Development office, co-sponsor of the series with the Communication Department.
