First Comprehension Best Practices Summer Institute
An Overview
Best
practices in comprehension instruction are the focus of the 2010 PA Reading
First Summer Institute. Participants will have an
opportunity to interact with nationally known speakers who will share their
knowledge and expertise in what works in the development of comprehension. Based
on research and built on application of research, presenters will guide
participants to deepen existing knowledge and learn proven techniques to foster
comprehension development. A menu of sessions available
will be provided. Participants will choose sessions prior to arrival and daily
schedules will be created so that individuals have an opportunity to attend
sessions of interest. Schedules of selected sessions will be distributed at
registration.
Act 48 Credits
All participants will receive 18 hours of Act 48 credit for Institute
attendance. Attendance for the entire Institute is required to gain Act 48
credits.
Requirements for Attendance
All participants are expected to attend all three days of the Institute.
Please note that the last day of each Institute will be a full day. Plan
accordingly. All participants will sign up for sessions prior to the
Institute.
