Email: dorothy.malloy | Dorothy Malloy has served Villanova University as its first General Counsel since February of 1989. She was promoted to Vice President and General Counsel in February, 1998, a title she continues to hold. In these capacities Ms. Malloy conducts or oversees the conduct of all legal affairs for Villanova University and advises the University's Board of Trustees, President, officers, deans and directors with respect to a wide variety of legal matters. Ms. Malloy has also served both as an adjunct law professor at Villanova University School of Law, teaching courses on "The Law of Higher Education", and as a Consultor on the Board of Consultors of the Law School.
Prior to joining Villanova, Ms. Malloy served as Assistant General Counsel and then Associate General Counsel for the University of Pennsylvania. She was also an Associate at the Center City offices of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Ms. Malloy also served a Judicial Clerkship with The Honorable Norma L. Shapiro in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Malloy earned her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Michigan (B.A. 1977, Summa Cum Laude) and her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania (J.D., Magna Cum Laude, 1980), where she was named to the Order of the Coif and elected to the Penn Law Review.
Ms. Malloy is a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Federal Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit, the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. |
