Catholic Relief Services in Rwanda: Before, During, and after the Genocide,
The Personal and Institutional Impact of the Genocide

Dave Piraino and Nathalie Piraino will speak about their personal and
professional experiences in Rwanda. Dave serves as the Executive Vice President
for Human Resources, Catholic Relief Services. From 1977 through 1997, he worked
as Program Director or Country Representative with CRS in six African countries,
including Rwanda. His wife, Nathalie, is a Program Officer in CRS' Overseas
Support Department. Nathalie is Rwandan and lost over 100 members of her family
in the genocide.

Tell. This is a perfect opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to meet the
author and to have a book signed during the day (and to avoid the lines after
her evening lecture!)

Join Immaculée Ilibagiza and the One Book Villanova Committee for a community
celebration featuring a menu of African specialties! Faculty and staff members
are invited to join us for this special dinner for the low price of $7.50.
However, the first 50 faculty and staff members who RSVP to the Office of
Student Development at 610-519-4210 will enjoy the dinner free of charge
courtesy of Villanova Dining Services and the One Book Committee.

"What is Genocide?" - Spoken Word Performance by Carlos Andrés Gómez Belle Air Terrace, Connelly Center

Carlos Andrés Gómez, an HBO Def Poet and actor from New York City, is a member
of the legendary Nuyorican Poets' Café's Slam Team that finished 2nd in the U.S.
at the National Poetry Slam and had a lead role in Spike Lee's number one box
office smash hit film Inside Man (Universal Pictures). A former social worker
and teacher, he has done over 100 college and university performances and toured
across North America, Europe, the Caribbean, and Africa. His entitled piece
"What is Genocide?" is guaranteed to move you out your seat.
