- Femininity: Portrait of Women within the Kite Runner
Noon - 1pm - Bryn Mawr Room, Connelly Center Speaker - Robert W. Caverly, Philosophy Student Khaled Houseinni's Kite Runner presents a unique look at the success and
failure of equal rights between genders in present and past Afghanistan.
The nature of the feminine within Afghani culture remains a theme secondary
to the plot of the book, but retains importance in the grand scheme of the
players in Afghani culture. This lunch and learn will examine the different
women within the Kite Runner and their roles in the story from a feminist
perspective.

Kite Runner: Where is our God? - Noreen Cameron & Bill Werpehowski
Who are the God-like images in the Kite Runner? Does that tell you more
about your own images of God? In what situations do you find evil? Does
the presence of evil mean the absence of God and if not, how do you find God
in the midst of evil, in the midst of suffering?
Explore these questions and more by joining in this thought provoking and
stimulating discussion.
