Many federal, state, and local laws apply to the safety and health of employees
at the University. These laws, are administered by the federal Occupational
Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the federal Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA), and their state and municipal counterparts. Compliance with these
laws is very important, and is overseen by the Office of Environmental Health
and Safety.
You play an important part in the goal of maximizing work place safety. You
should report any concerns regarding unsafe conditions or practices to your
supervisor, and to the University's Director of Environmental Health & Safety at
extension 9-7838.
