Any full-time employee who retires from the University at the age of 65 or older
and has ten (10) or more years of active credited service at the point of
retirement is currently offered a choice in health care coverage.
All retiree medical plans require the retiree to apply for, and pay the Medicare
Part B premium.
Employees who retire after the age of 62, with 10 years or more of active
credited service, are eligible to continue their University health insurance
coverage until the age of 65.
The cost of coverage to the retiree is the full cost of coverage less a
University contribution. As with all other benefits, the University reserves the
right to change, alter, amend, or terminate this coverage at any time for
employees and/or retirees. More information about retiree medical insurance
benefits is available through the Human Resources office, at extension 9-7900.
