Villanova Centennial

Horse and carriage, 15 January 1943

Horse and carriage, 15 January 1943

This vehicle was used to transport Centennial Ball guests to and from rail and bus stations. In addition to symbolizing Villanova’s roots in the pre-automobile age, the horse and carriage were a practical response to gasoline rationing in 1943.
