Phi Beta Kappa Chapter

Phi Beta Kappa Chapter

Villanova was approved for a much-coveted Phi Beta Kappa chapter in 1985, as a testament to Villanova’s excellence in the arts and sciences. This photograph shows the formal installation of Villanova’s Phi Beta Kappa chapter on 13 April 1986 in Saint Thomas of Villanova Church. Dr. Kenneth Greene (second from left), representing the national honor society, presented the charter to officers of the new Villanova chapter. They are Dr. Frederick Hartmann (left), Dr. Michael Burke and Dr. Vicent Sherry (extreme right). The Reverend Lawrence J. Gallen, O.S.A., Ph.D., Vice President for Academic Affairs, looks on.
