Welcome to The Theology Institute Website!
The Theology Institute was launched in 1967 as a forum for distinguished scholars to take up the Second Vatican Council’s mandate of bringing the church into dialogue with the contemporary world. Today, through its annual conferences, lecture series, and related events, the Theology Institute promotes serious and innovative interdisciplinary reflection on religious, cultural, and political issues of importance to the Church.

2011/12 Conference Theme
Truth and Mystery
Our theme for the 2011-12 academic year is “Truth and Mystery.” We will
sponsor programs that explore the interplay of faith and reason in our
capacities to know and communicate the truth and in our experiences of
mystery. The highlight of this year’s programming is a conference
featuring Professors Jen-Luc Marion, William Desmond, and Amy Hollywood.
We will also sponsor events that focus on truthfulness in political life
and in spirituality, the virtue of doubt, and the challenges of
articulating the truth of Christian faith in a postmodern age. Please
join us!
