NLN Preparation course for Certification as a Nurse Educator (CNE) Exam

Certification in any field is a mark of professionalism. For academic nurse educators, it establishes nursing education as a specialty area of practice and creates a means for faculty to demonstrate their expertise in this role. This six hour workshop, co-sponsored with the Centennial Area Health Education Center, is an intensive, comprehensive review of the major content areas of CNE test blueprint. It is designed to help potential candidates assess their level of readiness and identify practice domains where further study may be needed.

Faculty Development Institute

The National League for Nursing (NLN) and Villanova University have joined forces to co-sponsor a unique program for faculty in schools of nursing. The Institute will begin on a Saturday with a Welcome Reception/Get Together. Sunday opens with a keynote presentation, followed by 3 1/2 days of intensive work – combining presentations by experts with personal work by each participant.

Choose an area of focus from:

  1. Critical Thinking: Defining, Promoting and Measuring it;
  2. Designing Innovative Curricula and
  3. Effective Clinical Teaching.

The format for the program will allow attendees to work with experts to produce a tangible and useful product.  Participants will be asked to write personal objectives for the Institute and make a commitment to complete, or make significant progress toward completing, a project during the week. Visit the National League for Nursing web site to view an on-line version of the brochure and register online.

"I am so energized about teaching! It's Monday morning and I can't wait to talk to my team about the exciting things I learned from you and the other group members! Thanks again for everything, hope to see you next year. Again, thank you for your enthusiasm and expertise."
