The hallmarks of a Villanova Nurse include leadership ability and spirit of
service. Because of carefully crafted classroom, clinical and extracurricular
opportunities for students, as well as the mentorship of our faculty, Villanova
Nurses become leaders here on campus, in the community and the profession. This
experience stays with them throughout their careers as they contribute to the
larger world.
Some of our recent graduates tell their leadership and service stories—all of
them started by taking advantage of opportunities here at Villanova.

“The woman who does it all has met her match at Villanova University. Director
on the board of the National Student Nurses’ Association, President of the
Undergraduate Nursing Senate, Chair of the Philadelphia Homework Club, and alto
in the Villanova Gospel Ensemble are a few of the many facets within Villanova’s
community in which I have had the pleasure to take part; not to mention having
time to complete both a Spanish and Psychology minor prior to my senior year.
The spirit of altruism, leadership, and public service that storms throughout
this campus welcomed me when I arrived and will continue to guide me beyond the
day that I open my own inner city practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner.”

“At Villanova University nursing students are leaders in every way. Clinical
experiences, as well as the countless activities offered on campus, provide
endless opportunities, both professional and personal, to develop
“Leadership”…which is a vital component of a Nursing career. In addition to
volunteering through Habitat for Humanity, I also serve as the Medical Assistant
for the board of Special Olympics, held by Villanova each Fall, and as the Vice
President of Villanova’s chapter of Student Nurses’ Association of PA, which is
one of the most active chapters in the state as well as the nation.”

“I am a Villanovan. This label speaks volumes for the quality nursing education
I am attaining. Villanova nurses are known well beyond the borders of
Pennsylvania. As the current state Vice President of the Student Nurses’
Association of Pennsylvania, I have been prepared to assume a leadership role in
our profession. Villanova has given me the knowledge to be a great nurse and the
resources to facilitate my transition from education to the profession.”

“The College of Nursing at Villanova has enabled me to see the nursing
profession from so many perspectives. As a Presidential Scholar, Villanova
sponsored my travel to Copenhagen, Denmark to attend the International
Conference of Nursing. This opportunity allowed me to meet students, nurses and
faculty from all over the world and to experience the global vision of nursing
in the present and the future. In addition, my unique classroom and clinical
experiences have inspired me to take advantage of the numerous professional
opportunities open to Villanova nursing graduates.”

“I am a full scholarship track and field athlete. Juggling a nursing schedule
coupled with my athletic responsibilities is a daunting task. It is the support
network, faculty, and staff at the College of Nursing that allow me to pursue
both of my dreams. The best part about a nursing major is knowing that the
possibilities are endless when I graduate.”
