M. Frances Keen, DNSc, RN

M. Frances Keen is Associate Professor, Assistant Dean and Director of the
Undergraduate Nursing Program at Villanova University College of Nursing. Dr.
Keen received her diploma in nursing from The Johns Hopkins Hospital, a Bachelor
of Science in Nursing and Master of Science from University of Maryland, and a
Doctor of Nursing Science from Catholic University of America. Prior to her
appointment at Villanova University, Dr. Keen held positions at the University
of Miami, University of Maryland, and Johns Hopkins University and Hospital. Dr.
Keen was the recipient of a Fulbright award, teaching nursing at the University
of Malawi in Malawi, Africa. In addition, she has served as a consultant for the
Pan American Health Organization in the Bahamas and Jamaica and for Project HOPE
in Honduras. Volunteer activities include serving as president of the Johns
Hopkins University Alumni Association and on the Board of Trustees, as well as
national and local committees of the American Association of Critical-Care
Nurses. Dr. Keen has presented at numerous national and international
conferences and has authored over 30 articles and book chapters on
medical-surgical, nursing education, and international topics.
