Alternate Sequence Curriculum Overview

The Alternate Sequence Curriculum BSN Program for college graduates, transfers and adult learners is a two year program arranged in the traditional semester format. The program begins in August of each year and ends in August two years later. The student takes nursing coursework over four semesters and one summer session.

The Alternate Sequence Curriculum BSN Program offers more time for outside activities:

  • Employment in a clinical setting
  • Participation in campus and community activities
  • Additional coursework

"The alternate program at Villanova makes the transition as smooth as possible."

Nina Tamanini, BSN, RN
BSN '04

Students interested in this program option are also encouraged to submit copies of their college transcripts well in advance of their planned entrance into the program to allow for complete evaluation, transfer of credits and appropriate advisement. Upon successful completion, the student will receive a BSN degree and will be qualified to take the National Nursing Certification Examination (NCLEX) for licensure as a Registered Nurse.

Individuals applying for the alternate curriculum should visit the Villanova University Office of Financial Assistance for important information about application deadlines.

This program is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and fully accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
