How long will it take
for me to earn a BSN?
Providing pre-requisite courses have been fulfilled, the BSN may be earned in
two academic years and one summer.
What is the cost of the
Alternate Sequence Curriculum?
The tuition for the Alternate Sequence Curriculum is twice Villanova University's yearly tuition plus
a summer see Budget Office
for current rates. In addition to tuition and living expenses, other expenses you may anticipate
include books; transportation to clinical sites; parking; uniforms; physical examination and required
immunizations; stethoscope, protective mouthpieces and eye shields; CPR certification; background
checks for specific clinical agencies; and standardized tests at the completion of major courses in
preparation for the national licensure examination.
What courses will I have to take?
A number of our second degree/transfer/adult learner students have not taken
courses in chemistry (the course must have an organic component), anatomy and
physiology (8 credits), and microbiology or cell biology/genetics. These courses are
required and need to be completed early in the course of study. Nutrition and
statistics are also required.
A variety of humanity and social science courses are also required. Included
in this category are courses in: general psychology, human development,
sociology, theology, philosophy, English, and health care ethics.
Will all of
my college credits transfer towards the BSN?
Any credits for a course taken at an accredited college or university will
transfer provided that:
- The course fits with Villanova's BSN curriculum.
- A grade of C or better is earned.
- The number of credits transferred does not exceed 67 credits.
The transfer of credit process curriculum is flexible in that credits from:
- Science courses can be transferred.
