Important information for transfer students

1. A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher is required to transfer into the nursing program.
2. The nursing curriculum is a very structured one with courses in a pre-determined order. Because of the sequencing of courses, we generally accept transfer students to start coursework in August only.
3. Spaces in the nursing program are limited due to lab facilities, clinical agencies, and student-faculty ratios (8:1).
4. Consider learning more about our programs and the transfer process at one of our information sessions held in the fall and spring.
5. If you are transferring from another college or university and, after attending an information session, you decide that nursing at Villanova is right for you, you will need to complete a Transfer Student Application available on-line from the Office of University Admission.  In order to maximize the possibility of your acceptance, please plan to apply no later than March 1, 2008.

Information Sessions for Transfer Students

In order to facilitate the number of students who are considering a change into nursing, the College of Nursing will be offering spring and fall general information sessions as listed below. Separate sessions are offered for external and internal students.

For external students

If you are already a student at or have credits from a college or university other than Villanova and wish to transfer into the College of Nursing, you are an “external” transfer student.

If you are a student in the Villanova University College of Arts & Sciences, Engineering, Villanova School of Business, or Part-Time Studies and wish to transfer into the College of Nursing, you are an “internal” transfer student.

If you plan to attend an information session, please do the following:

1. Email the program assistant, Mrs. Marie Paolucci notifying her of your intent to attend. If you are a current Villanova student, provide Mrs. Paolucci with your student ID number, current college and major, and year (e.g., sophomore).
2. If you are a current Villanova student and have transcripts from a college or university other than Villanova, please bring the transcripts with you to the information session.
3. Students from outside Villanova should mail, email or fax transcripts to:

When you send your transcripts, please attach a note identifying yourself, your intent to attend the information session, and methods for contacting you.
