The
Learning Resource Center (LRC) provides six state of the art large practice labs, two individual
simulation rooms, a community health room and three standardized patient rooms. Within these spaces
there are electronic hospital beds and related up-to-date medical equipment, a variety of adult,
pediatric and maternity human patient
simulators, nursing models, and electronic and diagnostic equipment to facilitate the
simulation of clinical areas and situations.
Two labs are used weekly at the sophomore level for instruction in and practice of nursing
fundamental and physical assessment skills and at predetermined times during the junior and
senior years in conjunction with the students' clinical courses. Lab sessions
are also held for the nurse practitioner, RN and nurse anesthesia students. Additional hours are
available for extra practice sessions or clinical skill remediation of undergraduates conducted
by nursing graduate assistants.
