Across campus in labs and classrooms, Villanova maintains 1200 PCs for
public and classroom use. Public computer labs located in
Mendel and Tolentine Halls are open to students
with a valid Villanova Wildcard. The public labs contain desktop computers that
provide access to the Internet, University Information Systems, an application
software library (including the Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Access,
FrontPage, PowerPoint) laser printers and scanners. Student computer consultants
are available during specific times to assist users of the labs.
The College of Nursing distributes many interactive multimedia instructional
applications specific to the nursing curriculum which are
available to the nursing students from any computer on the Villanova network.
The Multimedia Resources Lab in the College of
Nursing Learning Resource Center holds extensive computer, audiovisual and
technical nursing resources which provide additional strength to our program.
New programs are added annually to the collection based on faculty
recommendations. To encourage students to expand their computer literacy and
facilitate their research, the latest versions of programs in use at Villanova
such as the Microsoft Office Suite and SPSS (for statistical analysis) are
provided.
