The Villanova Blue Key Society provides a prospective student with a student's
perspective into Villanova University for over 55 years.
The Blue Key Society has a long, rich history of service to Villanova
University. The Society was known as the “Key Club” in its early years, because
its members were seen as a prospective student’s ‘key’ to Villanova. Through
giving campus tours, hosting students and running annual Candidates’ Days, the
“Key Club” thrived and became one of Villanova’s most prominent and visible
student organizations. In order to more closely link the club and the spirit of
Villanova, the school color became a part of the name, and the group came to be
called the “Blue Key Society,” which it is known as still today. Currently in
its 56th year of service to Villanova in the 2008-2009 school year, the Society
now consists of over 200 student volunteer tour guides who proudly come together
to make up Blue Key.
Each fall, Blue Key welcomes into its midst the newest members of the Society,
who have been passed through two rounds of rigorous interviews. Each year, the
Recruitment Chairs strive to get a group of dedicated and genuine students who
wish to give back to Villanova. We are proud to be among the most energetic,
diverse, outgoing and interesting groups on campus. Members come together from
all different organizations, such as Greek Life, New Student Orientation, Music
Activities, Special Olympics, Athletics and Student Government, to paint an
accurate and complete portrait of student life at Villanova.
