It is the policy of the Villanova University Department of Public Safety (VUDPS) to officially recognize its members for the outstanding performance of their duties. Official commendations shall be awarded to deserving personnel in recognition of, and appreciation for, outstanding acts of public service and performance, which contribute to the goals of VUDPS. These awards are not to be construed as automatic citations, but shall be awarded after thorough evaluation of each nominee. The VUDPS will honor recipients of commendations and awards by regularly hosting an award ceremony during the Departmental in-service training.
