GREAT AMERICAN SMOKEOUT
November 20
Every year, smokers across the nation take part in the
American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout® by smoking less or quitting
for the day during the third Thursday of November. The event challenges people
to stop using tobacco and raises awareness of the many effective ways to quit
for good.
The Health Promotion Team at Villanova University
participates in this event every year. We are
offering yet another fun and easy alternative for students to get involved!
- Eat a cold turkey
sandwich in the dining halls to show your support for fellow students,
faculty, and staff who are making an effort to quit smoking “cold turkey”
- Help raise awareness by
adding the name of a friend or loved one who has died or is currently
struggling with a smoking related illness
- Adopt a smoker and give
them moral support for the day
- Trade in your cigarettes
for a small prize and a chance to win the raffle prize
