Admission Overview and Applying to Villanova for International Students

Villanova is home to students from all around the world,  where more than sixty different countries are represented at the undergraduate level. Additionally, over eighteen percent of our graduate students come to our community from abroad.

Villanova University is an institution rich in history and tradition. For more than 160 years, Villanova has been under the auspices of the Friars of the Order of St. Augustine. Their presence on campus fosters a welcoming community whose ideals are selfless, just, and caring. Applying to Villanova University

First-year students are required to submit the following:

• On-line Villanova Preliminary Application, Villanova Essay and Application Fee

• Common Application and supporting materials (essay, Secondary School Report, activities, etc.)

• Official secondary school academic records *

• Official Test Scores (SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.)

Transfer students are required to submit the following:

• On-line Transfer application, essay, and application fee

• Official secondary school academic records*

• Dean of Students evaluation form

• Official university academic records*

• Official Test Scores (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.)

All documents submitted must be official and in the original language. An official copy is one that bears the original signature of the Registrar or other designated school official, an original impression of the institution's seal, and/or the signature or seal of the examining board. In certain cases, "certified" or "notarized" copies may be submitted.

Documents not in English must be accompanied by an official translation in order to be reviewed.

Secondary school records are required for all first-year and transfer applicants. Transcripts of course work and grades/marks are required for the equivalent of secondary school study. Records should list subjects studied each year and the mark or grade of proficiency earned in each. A key to the marking system with minimum passing mark should be included. If you complete secondary school in a country where a national secondary school leaving examination is administered, you will be required to provide the official results of the examination or predicted marks if the exams have not yet been administered.

Application Details

• First-year students, please submit your complete application (includes all required documents and fees) by November 1 (Early Action) or January 7 (Regular Decision).
• Transfer students, please submit your complete application (includes all required documents and fees) by November 1 (for entry in the Spring Term) or June 1 (for entry in the Fall Term).

You must submit the Certification of Financesform and bank letter to expedite the issuance of the I-20 Form for your student visa.

Be sure your name on your application matches your name on your secondary school records.

Please pay the non-refundable application fee of seventy-five U.S. dollars ($75) at the time of application.  You may pay in the form of a bank draft/check drawn on a U.S. bank or with an international postal money order in U.S. dollars made out to Villanova University, or by credit card. Please do not send cash.
