Extension is an additional period of time requested by the student’s faculty advisor so the student may complete his or her academic program. Extension requests MUST be submitted to the International Student Office BEFORE the program end date as listed on the I-20 in section 5.

Students seeking an extension of their program end date MUST email the International Student Office to set up an appointment. At the appointment time, the student seeking an extension MUST present the following documents:

• Letter from the faculty advisor stating that the student requires an extension and the academic reason underlying the request
• I-20.
