The Academic Advancement Program (AAP)/Act 101 of Villanova was developed to
provide an educational opportunity for students of Pennsylvania who meet the
academic and economic criteria established by the Higher Educational Opportunity
Act of 1971, legislatively designated and publicly known as Act 101. This specialized admissions program (AAP) of Villanova was formally established
in 1969 and became a part of the Act 101 statewide system in 1974. The Academic
Advancement Program recruits highly motivated students whose high school
credentials suggest that they can, with academic support, successfully
matriculate at Villanova University.
The mission of the AAP program is to help students achieve academic success and
to support them as they strive to reach their goals. Once enrolled at Villanova
University, AAP students can begin to utilize counseling and tutoring services
free of charge. So, whether you need a tutor, academic support, would
like to borrow a book from our
lending library, or need a cash loan for books, AAP is here to help!
