Villanova University Diversity Statement
Villanova University, as a Catholic Augustinian institution of higher
education, recognizes diversity as an integral component of the teaching
and learning experience and an essential element of the ongoing
intellectual, social and spiritual development of every member of the
Villanova community. Accordingly, Villanova University will be a diverse
community. We commit ourselves to cultivating an academic environment
marked by genuine curiosity about different perspectives, ardent
receptivity to knowledge generated through intercultural connections and
genuine sensitivity to the variety of human experiences marked by
domestic and global differences. The Center for Multicultural Affairs offers programs and workshops
throughout the year for members of our campus community. We focus on
topics relating to race, ethnicity, religion, gender, body type, mental
or physical differences, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status,
geographic location, age and other social identifiers.
The Center also holds events and workshops throughout the year for
current and prospective students interested in furthering their
education. These programs focus on such topics as college readiness, the
college admission, financial aid and scholarship process as well as for
academic advancement and well-being. We also have available numerous diversity-related books, films and other
educational materials to enhance further our diversity offerings.
