All student performances are free except as noted. Unless otherwise noted, all performances are in the St. Mary’s Hall Chapel or Auditorium.  St. Mary's is located at County Line and Spring Mill Roads (Rt 320). For directions to campus, click here. Recent Student Performances

April

  • The Jazz Band and Orchestra presented a joint end-of-year concert.
  • The Band held its spring concert.
  • Villanova Student Musical Theater presented a Cabaret - Musical Theatre through the Decades
  • The Dance Ensemble presented its Spring Showcase.
  • The Villanova Voices and Villanova Singers presented their spring concert featuring Fauré Requiem, with guest appearances by The Haveners and The Spires.
  • The Band played for the live MSNBC national broadcast of "The Hardball College Tour: Villanova" featuring Republican Presidential Candidate Senator John McCain. 
  • The Villanova Voices performed for Balloon Day.
  • The Villanova Singers held their second annual Legacy Event that included a weekend of concerts and alumni events. 
  • The Villanova Student Musical Theatre presented Elton John's Aïda.
  • International Dance night featured the Villanova Irish Dancers, the Ararat Armenian Dance Ensemble, and the Villanova Indian Student Association.
  • The Band gave a joint concert with Archbishop Carroll High School Band, at Archbishop Carroll.

March

  • The Villanova Irish Dancers & McDade School of Irish Dance performed for St. Patrick's Day at the Belle Air Terrace in the Connelly Center.
  • The Band and the Dance Team travel to the Big East Tournament in New York City.
  • The Villanova Singers had a spring tour to Montreal.  Concert locations included an Augustinian Church in in Troy, NY and a Nursing Home in Montreal.
  • The Dance Team performed during half time of the Men's Basketball game vs. USF at the Pavillion during Spring Break.
  • The Band travelled to the NCAA Tournament Midwest Region in Tampa.
  • Villanova Jazz Band performed with special guest artist, Brian Pastor, as part of the Villanova Jazz Festival
  • The Band travelled to the NCAA Sweet 16 in Detroit.
  • The Gospel Choir had its Spring Concert.

February

  • The Villanova Student Theatre presented six performances of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
  • The Band played for the Women's Basketball games vs. Providence and Cincinnati at the Pavilion.  The Spires & Vocal Minority sang the National Anthem at those games.
  • The Irish Dancers performed as part of the James Joyce Birthday Celebration at Flip and Bailey's in Garrett Hill.
  • The Band played for Men's Basketball games vs. Syracuse, UConn, & Marquette at the Wachovia Center and Seton Hall & West Virginia at the Pavilion. The Villanova Singers, Gospel Choir, Spires, Haveners, & SuperNovas each sang the National Anthem at a game and the Dance Team performed at half-time.

January

  • The Spires held auditions for a spring semester opening.
  • The Band played for the Women's basketball games vs. Syracuse and Pitt.  SuperNovas and The Sirens sang the National Anthem at those games and The Dance Team performed at half-time. 
  • The Band played for the Men's Basketball games vs. DePaul and Notre Dame.  The Voices and NBT sang the National Anthem at those games and The Dance Team performed at half-time. 
  • The Sirens had a meet and greet for potential new members.
  • Music Activities & Villanova University participated in its first Live Internet2 Broadcast of the Philadelphia Orchestra's Global Concert Series.   The concert was viewed live via multicast in the Connelly Center Cinema.  The Philadelphia Orchestra was conducted by Christoh Eschenbach, with soloists Jennifer Koh, Rinat Shaham, and Time for Three and presented two Higdon works and Bernstein's Jeremiah Symphony.  More info on the program.
  • The Villanova Student Musical Theatre will held auditions for its spring show, Elton John's Aida Thank you to everyone who participated! 

December

  • The Villanova Student Theatre held auditions for its Spring production, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
  • The Villanova Voices led a Christmas Carol sing-along at the Monastary.
  • The Villanova Voices and Villanova Singers sang for the Villanova Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.
  • The Band played for the Women's Basketball game vs. Penn.  The Sirens sang the National Anthem. 
  • The Villanova Singers and Villanova Voices held their annual Christmas Concert in St. Mary's Chapel.  This concert included a capella performances by the Spires and Haveners.
  • The Band played for the Men's Basketball game vs. arch-rival Penn.  Vocal Minority sang the National Anthem.
  • The Villanova Student Theatre presented Noises Off.
  • The Band played for the Women's Basketball game vs. St. Joe's.  The Villanova Singers will sang the National Anthem.
  • Haveners and special guests Mixed Company from Swarthmore College presented an end-of-semester concert.
  • The Band played for the Men's Basketball game vs. LaSalle at the Wachovia Center, part of the Big East/SEC Invitational.
  • The Gospel Choir presented a Christmas Concert.
  • The Villanova Jazz Ensemble and Orchestra presented a joint Christmas Concert.
  • The Band played for the Men's Basketball game vs. Stony Brook.  The SuperNovas sang the National Anthem.
  • The Sirens and Spires presented a joint Winter Concert.

November

  • The Band played for the Women's Basketball home opener vs. Fairfield at the Pavilion 7pm.  Members of the Villanova Voices sang the National Anthem and the Drum Line will perform at half-time.
  • The Band played for the final Men's Football home game vs. Delaware.  The Villanova Voices sang the National Anthem and the Twirlers performed at half-time.
  • The Dance Ensemble held its Fall Showcase in St. Mary's Auditorium.
  • The Band plays for the Men's Basketball game vs. Bucknell.  The Villanova Singers sang the National Anthem.
  • The Haveners spent their fall tour at St. Mary's College of Maryland and The University of Richmond.
  • The Band played for the Men's Basketball game vs. Stony Brook.  The SuperNovas will sang the National Anthem.
  • The Haveners sang in a benefit concert for Habitat for Humanity.
  • The Villanova Student Musical Theatre presented Fame.
  • Many of our Music Activities Groups performed during the Special Olympics.
  • The Band played for the Men's Basketball game vs. Bloomsburg at the Wachovia Center.  The Gospel Choir will sang the National Anthem and the Dance Team performed at half-time.

October

  • The Band traveled to Puerto Rico for Fall Break and played several concerts around the island.
  • The Band played for the football Homecoming game and a game against Hofstra, Villanova Stadium. 
  • The Villanova Voices Fall Tour to New York City.  The Voices sang a concert of a capella sacred works at The Church of Saint Paul the Apostle, Columbus Avenue at 60th Street.
  • The Villanova Singers and the Villanova Voices each spent an evening singing for the retired priests at Villanova's Monastery.

September

  • St. Thomas of Villanova 2007 Celebration - Day of Service
    Music Activities Groups went out into the community performing at locations throughout the region.  Two "teams" of performing groups each visited two locations during the day.  Members of the Villanova Band, Singers, Voices, Dance Team, Irish Dancers, Dance Ensemble, and Twirlers reached out to the residents of the St. Edmond's Home for Children in Rosemont, the Cardinal Kroll Center (for developmentally disabled men) in Springfield, Camilla Hall (a retirement community for the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary) in Immaculata, PA, and Inglis House in Philadelphia. 
  • The Band played for the football game vs archrival Penn, Villanova Stadium.  The Haveners sang the National Anthem.
  • Parents Weekend included two venues for our music activities students.  On Friday evening a few of our newer a cappella groups performed during LateNite at Villanova - Family Style! and on Sunday The Band, Orchestra, Jazz Band, Les Six, The Drumline, Irish Dancers, the Dance Company, Dance Team, Wildcat Dancers, Irish Dancers, Twirlers, The Gospel Choir, The Villanova Singers, Spires, The Villanova Voices, and Haveners all performed in the Music Activities Showcase at the Connelly Center.   Also during Parents' Weekend the Band played for the home football game vs. Maine.

September
  • Music Activities Groups participated in the Villanova University Community Day of Service by performing at the following locations
  • Music Activities Groups participated in Inaugural Events for Fr. Peter by performing continuously on the Main Stage during the festival dinner at Mendell Field
October
  • The Band Trip to Montreal, concerts were held in the Albany area and in Montreal.
  • The Villanova Student Theatre presented You Can't Take it With You, by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart
  • Dance Team performed at Hoops Mania.
  • The Dance Team, Twirlers, Wildcat Dancers, and of course, the Band performed for the Homecoming Game.
  • Spires Concert sang and hosed a concert featuring the Villanova Haveners and the Dickinson Syrens.
  • Singers, Voices, and Gospel Ensemble sang as part of the Breast Cancer Awareness Prayer Vigil.
  • Villanova Singers had its Fall Tour to Boston. 
November
  • The Villanova Student Music Theatre presented Footloose
  • The Dance Team performed as part of Opening Day for the Special Olympics.
  • The Dance Team, Twirlers, Wildcat Dancers, and the Band performed at the home football games vs. Richmond and James Madison.
  • The Band played for the Men's Basketball exhibition game vs. Holy Family College.  The Villanova Singers sang the National Anthem, and the Dance Team performed during the half time show.
  • The Haveners sang at a Business School event in the Villanova Room.
  • The Haveners participated in a benefit concert for Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia, sponsored by Interfaith Houses for Habitat at Grace Presbyterian Church in Jenkintown.
  • The Sirens A Capella Concert - This concert was the Sirens first on-campus performance!  The concert featured special guests the Supernovas, Vocal Minority, and the Spires.
  • The Band played for Women's Basketball games vs. LaSalle and Marist.  The Wildcat Dancers performed during the half time shows. 
  • The Haveners sang the National Anthem for the women's game vs. LaSalle.
  • The Villanova Singers performed a concert for the monastery.
  • The Dance Ensemble had its Fall Show.
  • The Band playe for the Men's Basketball game vs. Navy.  The Sirens sang the National Anthem and the Dance Team performed during the half time show.
December
  • Spires performed at Holy Spirit High School in Absecon, NJ.
  • Gospel Choir had its Christmas Concert.
  • The Band played for the Men's Basketball game at Penn in The Palestra and for a home game vs. Drexel.
  • The Band played for the Women's Basketball game vs. University of South Florida.
  • Vocal Minority {The Concert} featuring Villanova's own:  The Haveners & The Sirens
  • A Christmas Potpourri was presented by the Villanova Instrumental Ensembles, Le Six, University Orchestra, The Holiday Percussion Ensemble, & VU Jazz Ensemble.  The program included The Holly and The Ivy; O Holy Night; Hark! The Herald Angels Sing; Santa Claus is Coming to Town; and other Christmas, Classical, and Standard favorites!
  • A Christmas Carol - The yearly staged reading of this Dickens' Classic was presented by the Villanova Student Theater
  • Singers / Voices held their joint Christmas Concert featuring Spires, Haveners, and a quartet of alumni from The Perfect Union.
    The program featured Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols
Winter

Break

  • During winter break, the Band played for the Men's Basketball games vs. Rider, LaSalle, Temple, DePaul, & Notre Dame and Women's Basketball games vs. Temple, Loyola, Manhattan, St. Joe's, West Virginia, & DePaul
January
  • The Dance Ensemble had its Spring Showcase Auditions.
  • The Band played for the Women's Basketball game vs. St. John's.
February
  • The Villanova Student Theatre presented Uncommon Women and Others as part of the University's tribute to Wendy Wasserstein
  • The Band played for the infamous Holy War Men's Big Five game vs. St. Joe's, and basketball home games vs. Louisville, Cincinnati, Georgetown, & Rutgers at both the Pavillion & the Wachovia Center.
  • The Band played for Women's Basketball games vs. Notre Dame, Rutgers, & Providence.
  • The Villanova Singers delivered Singing Valentines all day in classes and on the phone on Valentine's day (despite school being closed for snow). 
  • Spires, Villanova Voices, & Gospel Choir sang the National Anthem at various basketball games. 
  • The Dance Team danced at half-time for home basketball games.
  • The Villanova Student Music Theatre presented The Mystery of Edwin Drood.
March
  • Singers, Voices, & Gospel Ensemble Spring Tour to Spain
    • Evening Public Mass at Madrid's Nuestra Señora Reina del Cielo Church immediately followed by a recital
    • Recital following the evening Public Mass at Seville's Church of San Isidoro. This was a joint concert with the Sevilla University Choir.
  • The Band played for the Men's Basketball game vs. Syracuse
  • The Band played for the Men's Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden
  • A Capella-Palooza  Performances by The Sirens, The Spires, The Haveners, Vocal Minority, Nothing But Treble, & The Supernovas
  • The Band played for the Villanova Basketball NCAA game in Chicago
