Welcome to the Villanova University Student Life website.

In his Confessions, St. Augustine says, “You have made us for yourself O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.” This prayer reminds us of the restlessness that is a part of the journey that each one of us faces throughout our life. As a Catholic university in the Augustinian tradition, Villanova University is committed not just to the education of the whole person but to the education of the whole person within the context of a caring community. Students learn, grow and develop in an atmosphere where they are supported, encouraged and challenged by friends. This community atmosphere is at the heart of the journey of each Villanovan.

The journey to intellectual growth is accomplished primarily by the outstanding academic programs of the university. This journey is complemented by a variety of programs designed to enhance the learning experience of our students outside of the classroom. By exploring these web pages you will learn about the many and varied Student Life programs that are designed to challenge our students to grow spiritually, socially and intellectually. The pages of the Student Development Office, the Learning Communities, the Residence Life Office and the Senior Steps program will reveal many examples of our commitment to out of classroom learning. In addition there are arrays of services offered by the Student Life Division to support the needs of our students. Take a moment to peruse the pages of the Counseling Center, the Center for Health and Wellness Education, and the Career Center.

The “restlessness” of which Augustine speaks is part of each person’s journey throughout a lifetime. The Student Life Division strives to facilitate the journey so that a Villanova graduate will be grounded spiritually, intellectually, socially and ethically and be prepared to face the continued restless journey that lies ahead.
