Housing Assignment Process for
Incoming Freshman Residents

Freshman Housing Assignments:

As an entering freshman in the fall, you will receive a Housing Assignment if:

  1. you applied to the University as a Resident for First-Time Undergraduate studies beginning in the fall;
  2. you were Accepted as a Resident for First-Time Undergraduate studies beginning in the fall;
  3. you paid your deposit;
  4. you completed your housing contractpostmarked no later than May 1, 2009.

Once you have submitted your non-refundable admission registration deposit, as stated in your acceptance letter, you will be able to accept the terms of your housing contract three (3) business days later.

Freshman residents may not request a specific building or type of room. In general, housing assignments are based on the date your admission deposit is processed. Other factors which guide your housing assignment may include: participation in a designated Learning Community, documented medical needs, and/or preferences specified in a questionnaire accompanying the housing contract.

Freshman residents are assigned roommates on the basis of gender, date of admission deposit and, where possible, academic college and preferences specified in a questionnaire accompanying the housing contract.

Freshman housing assignments will be available the first week of August.  Answers to FAQ's by incoming students can be found here
