Steps to Guide you through the Application Process
If you are not currently a Villanova student but will be transferring or
beginning graduate work here in the fall, the following is an outline of the
Resident Assistant Selection Process. Graduates interested in applying to be a
Resident Assistant should review the following information carefully. Please
note that Head Resident positions are generally reserved for seniors or graduate
students who have at least one year of experience as an RA at Villanova.
Villanova University does not employ Hall Directors or Graduate Assistants.
Also, due to the time-consuming nature of both the RA position and the Law
program, first-year Law students are generally discouraged from applying.
If you are a current or pending Villanova graduate student, the following is
an outline of the Resident Assistant Selection Process. Graduates interested in
applying to be a Resident Assistant should review the following dates and
deadlines carefully.
1. Attend an Informational Meeting We strongly
encourage all students interested in applying for a Residence Staff position to
attend one of the three information sessions being held. View the dates

2. Read the RA Information
In order to fully understand the responsibilities associated with the RA
position, we strongly encourage you to carefully read all information on this
site especially the Resident Assistant job
description.
3. Download the Application and Sign Up For An Interview Time
You can access the RA Application
here.
Complete the application in Word and email to
jennifer.derry@villanova.edu
or print, complete and mail the application to:

If you have difficulty downloading the application or have any questions
about the form, you can receive assistance in the Office for Residence Life in
Kennedy Hall, by calling 610-519-4155, or by emailing

4. The Interview Process
Prior to your interview, please take some time to review the Villanova University Mission Statement found here and the Office for Residence Life Mission Statement found here.
Your RA interview will last approximately 2 hours in either a morning or
afternoon session. The interview consists of both an individual interview and a
group process activity with other RA candidates. You will be asked to select an
interview date and morning or afternoon preference on the application.

5. You'll Need a Reference
You must obtain a Reference from a University faculty or staff member. Please
access the
Reference Form,
which you must print, sign, and give to the individual writing your letter. If
you are not currently a Villanova University student, you may obtain a letter of
recommendation from a faculty or staff member at your current institution.
