About the Program
The RA Mentor Program (RAMP is designed to develop basic leadership skills of students in the fall semester prior to their application for the RA position. This program is open to all rising sophomore and junior students who would like to learn more about themselves, leadership skills, and the position before deciding to apply.
Students participating in the program will be divided into groups and meet regularly during the fall semester. Each group meeting will be facilitated by a Residence Life professional. At these meetings, students will be introduced to some important roles of the RA position, participate in activities designed to develop leadership and team building skills, develop and implement educational activities for the residence halls, and hone interviewing skills.

Requirements
If you are selected, you would be required to:
- Attend and actively participate in periodic group meetings and activities
- Together with your group facilitator, develop and implement a group project.
Applying to participate in RAMP
Applications for the Fall 2009 RAMP program are no longer available.
Applications for the Fall 2010 RAMP program will be available in March 2010.
Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the selection
process and notified by campus mail. Candidates must demonstrate a genuine
desire to be in the program, as well as the potential to be successful student
leader.
Note: You do not need a Letter of Recommendation in order to apply for RAMP.
