Saturday: Morning and Afternoon

Individual Colleges hold special ceremonies for graduates and their guests prior to the Baccalaureate Mass on Saturday, May 17 in the evening.  Listed below are times and locations for each of the colleges. 

Villanova Business School

Recognition Ceremony
Location: The Pavilion
Time: 8:30 am - Breakfast
9:30 am - Ceremony

Location: Bartley Hall Atrium
Time: Immediately following the Recognition Ceremony
Graduate students - please RSVP with the number of attendees to yvonne.poorman.taylor@villanova.edu.

College of Nursing

Convocation
Location: St. Thomas of Villanova Church
Time: 9:30 am

College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

Medallion Ceremony - Invitation Only
Location: St. Thomas of Villanova Church
Time: 2:00 pm
  The Medallion Ceremony is for academic medallion recipients only and their guests.  Individual Arts and Sciences departments host receptions or ceremonies on Sunday after the main University Commencement.

College of Engineering

Recognition Ceremony
Location: Mendel Field
Time: 2:30 pm

 

Baccalaureate Mass - Saturday Evening

All graduates and their families are invited to attend the Baccalaureate Mass.

Baccalaureate Mass
Location: University Stadium
Gates Open: Gates to the stadium will open at 3:30 pm
Mass Time: 5:00 pm and will conclude about 6:30 pm
What to Wear: It is recommended that graduates wear their gowns and hoods (no caps) for the Mass.
Weather Contingency: In the event of severe weather, the Mass will be moved indoors to the Pavilion.

 

Details about the Mass

Where to Sit:  Following communion, a graduate's blessing will be included in the celebrations. For this reason, graduates are asked to sit with families and friends for the Mass.

Special Needs Guests: If you have guests who may be unable to manage the bleachers, please alert an usher. The usher will direct you to appropriate seating. Guests who require a sign language interpreter should contact the Office of The President by telephone (610) 519-8882 or email The Office of Student Life. A simulcast will be available in the Jake Nevin Field House regardless of the weather. Eucharist will distributed at both the live and simulcast liturgies.

Severe Weather: In the event of severe weather, information regarding a change in location for the Baccalaureate Mass can be obtained on the day of the event at (610) 519-4505 as well as on the Villanova homepage at www.villanova.edu.

Seating: Guest seating will be first come - first served. When capacity is reached in the Pavilion, guests will be invited to attend the simulcast in the Jake Nevin Field House.
