NEW! The SGA Ride Share Board
The Villanova Student Government Association (SGA) and UNIT are pleased to
announce the implementation of "Ride Share Board," an online service that
allows Villanova students, faculty, and staff to post information about offering
and receiving car rides to and from the University throughout the school year.
Students can access the Ride Share Board website by clicking on the "Student
Links" title on the Villanova home page (students must be logged into the
Villanova website to see this link). Next, students will input their Villanova
email address and Banner ID number to access posts that will link them to others
that live in their area. Students can also sign up for "Alerts" by clicking on
the "Actions" tab to receive notices when rides are being offered in to or from
their area. Questions? Please email the Student Government Association at
sga@villanova.edu.
Air Transportation
Getting to the Airport from Villanova
The SGA Airport Shuttle
The Villanova Student Government Association - (610) 519-7203 - frequently offers
shuttle service to/from Philadelphia International Airport during University breaks**.
The SGA Airport Shuttle will be advertised on the Wildcat Newswire, the Parents
Website, and in "News and Events" on the Villanova Home Page when service is
available.
The SGA Spring Break Airport Shuttle will be available
on Friday, February 27th (12 pm, 2 pm, 4 pm, 6 pm) and Saturday, February
28th (8 am, 10 am, 12 noon). Buses to the airport will leave from Pike Lot
(SE corner of Ithan Avenue & Lancaster). The return shuttle will pick up
students on the commercial side of TERMINAL C at Philadelphia International Airport on Sunday, March 8th at 2 pm, 4 pm, 6 pm, and 8 pm and drop off will be in the Pike Lot (SE
Corner of Ithan & Lancaster). Tickets for the Spring Break Airport Shuttle Service
are $20 roundtrip or $12 one way (cash or Wildcard).
Students must purchase their shuttle tickets in advance in 214 Dougherty Hall.
PLEASE NOTE: Students MUST arrive in the Pike Lot at least 15
minutes prior to departure and present the Shuttle Bus Voucher to the bus
driver before boarding the airport shuttle. Shuttle tickets cannot be purchased
from the bus driver. Students without a voucher will be
denied access to the Airport Shuttle. Questions? Please
chiefofstaff@villanovasga.com.
**-Excludes end-of-semester break periods.
Train
Another option for students is through the
SEPTA Regional Rail
service. The
R-5 Regional Rail (Thorndale/Paoli) makes frequent stops at the NW
corner of Villanova's main campus area. Students may take the R-5 to
the 30th Street Station. Once at 30th Street Station, just switch trains
and take the R-1 Airport Train. Please note: students should check the
SEPTA schedules online for times, since during peak hours or on holidays
the train does not stop as frequently at Villanova's campus! At 30th
Street Station during peak times, the R-1 train to the airport leaves
every 30 minutes on the "4's" (:04 and :34) of each hour. Students
should also check both the R-5 and R-1 schedules to insure enough time
to check into the airport early. Students will need to know which
airport terminal they are going to (A, B, C, D, or E/F), as the R-1
stops at each terminal separately.
Taxi Service The airport taxi and shuttle services (such as Avalon, Bennett, and
Main Line Taxis mentioned above) run by off-campus companies frequently
offer 24-hour service. Students should be aware that transportation to
the airport from Villanova can cost $35-$60 each way, and they may wish
to "carpool" to save on the expense. Please check with individual
taxi/limousine services directly concerning transportation to/from the
airport from Villanova. *Excluding End-of-Semester Breaks
