N*W*C National Tour
N*W*C. Three tour-de-force performers take on racial slurs, stereotypes, and the
concept of race itself.
|
Blending theater, hip-hop, stand-up comedy, slam poetry, and true-life stories
with their own original style, three tour-de-force performers take on one of the
hottest issues around…race…in the premiere production from LA’s Speak Theater
Arts: N*W*C – The Race Show
N*W*C draws startlingly funny and sharply moving conclusions about what
separates us as cultures, and yet, must ultimately bring us together as people.
In N*W*C’s words: “This show traces the origins and evolution of three
derogatory terms that shaped our lives and took the place of a full
understanding of our distinct cultures. Creating our own brand of theater, we’ve
used these stories to get us to a better place. We hope they get you somewhere
too.

Campus Computing: From Free Speech to Facebook
Presented by C.L Lindsay, Executive Director of the Coalition for Student
Academic Rights
|
The Internet's ability to bring the world at large to every computer terminal
opens students and their institutions to a slew of potential legal problems. The
advent of social networking sites like Myspace and Facebook have put both
universities and their students in a precarious and, largely undefined space.
Add to that the fact that students are commonly accused of online harassment,
electronic stalking, copyright infringement, and software piracy and its clear
that cyberspace can be a dangerous place, indeed. This program teaches students
everything they need to know about their online lives: What their rights are;
how the laws operate; what potential liabilities await them. And, most
importantly, they'll leave knowing how to protect themselves both legally and
personally when they log on.
Find out what you need to know your online profile. What are your rights? How
do the laws operate? What potential liabilities might await you? And most importantly, you’ll learn how to
protect yourself legally and personally when you log on.
Attorney C. L Lindsay is the founder and Executive Director of the Coalition
for Student Academic Rights. His lecture will discuss the advent of social
networking sites like MySpace and Facebook which have both universities and
their students in a precarious and largely undefined space.
