Mark your calendar ~ December 1 - 6, 2008!

Merry Christmas Villanova Week is a festive week of events sponsored by CAT's Special Events Committee.  With so many events, there's really something for everyone.  Originally a few CAT events, Merry Christmas Villanova Week has truly grown to encompass many events and holiday traditions celebrated by our diverse Villanova University community.  Events are open to the entire Villanova University community - students, faculty, staff and alumni.

The 2008 schedule of events includes:

Villanova's Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony - Monday, December 1

This spectacular event, hosted at the Oreo, will feature carol-singing from numerous student groups, as well as an address from Father Peter. Immediately following the lighting of the tree, a reception will be held in the President's Lounge of the Connelly Center featuring all of your favorite holiday snacks for free!

Gingerbread House Making - Tuesday, December 2

Is there a better way to enjoy the holidays than by making, and then eating, your own gingerbread house? Held in the Italian Kitchen from 8:30pm to 10:30pm, this always-popular event will feature stocking decoration for the first 200 in attendance, Christmas card making, holiday music, and, of course, gingerbread house making! Come out with your friends and celebrate the holiday spirit.

Holiday Bazaar - Tuesday, December 2 and Wednesday, December 3

Come to the Villanova Room in the Connelly Center and discover the perfect place to do your holiday shopping! From 11:00am to 7:00pm on both Tuesday and Wednesday, over 30 vendors selling unique gifts, jewelry, scarves, purses and more will be on campus at your convenience to meet all of your shopping needs.

Live Music Wednesday - Wednesday, December 3

Matt Roach will be singing original Christmas songs and carols in the Belle Air Terrace at 6:00pm, directly following the Holiday Bazaar. Stick around and enjoy the holiday festiveness!

Yuletide Ball - Friday, December 5

A holiday favorite, the Yuletide Ball is a great way to spend your Friday night of Merry Christmas Villanova Week. Hosted in the Villanova Room of the Connelly Center from 8:00pm to midnight, the Yuletide Ball features free chesecake, silent auctions for more than a dozen gift packages, and, of course, dancing!

NYC Trip: Christmas in the Big Apple - Saturday, December 6

CAT's popular holiday trip to New York City returns for 2008! Buses leave Pike Lot at 9:00am and arrive back at Villanova at around 7:00pm. Take advantage of a full day in New York City to do some shopping, catch a show, and check out the big tree in Rockefeller Center! Round-trip bus transportation is provided on a coach bus. The trip costs $20 per person. Spots are limited, so make sure to come to the CAT Office, 108 Dougherty, and sign up!
