NovaFest Volunteer Central

Volunteers are an important part of NovaFest. Volunteer recruitment for NovaFest 2009 will begin in March 2009. Here's a sample of volunteer needs from NovaFest 2008, held April 25-26, 2008 at Villanova University.

Archived Volunteer Information - 2008

All volunteers will receive the official NovaFest 2008 Volunteer T-Shirt, free access to events and complimentary hospitality. To be eligible, volunteers must complete 1 out of the 6 options.

All volunteers will receive the NovaFest 2008 Volunteer T-Shirt. Volunteers who complete Options A-E will receive complimentary passes to the Saturday evening's concert event starring Sean Kingston and Brand New. Volunteers who work Option F (Concert Staff) will also be able to see the concert.

Volunteer Options

Option A - Promotions Street Team
Potential Duties:
  • "Dorm-storming" NovaFest flyers to all apartment and residence hall doors on campus
  • Hanging flyers in apartment and residence hall buildings on campus
  • "Chalking" sidewalks around campus to promote NovaFest
Members should commit to these three shifts:
  • Tuesday, April 15th: 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 23rd: 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 24th: 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

ALL SPOTS HAVE BEEN FILLED!

Option B - Movie Night Crew
Potential Duties:
  • Setup big screen and projection system
  • Help with hospitality and food at the event
  • Provide security at the event
Members should commit to working:
  • Friday, April 25th: 8:00 p.m. - Midnight

Option C - Friday Afternoon Concert Setup Crew
Potential Duties:
  • Help load-in and setup for the concert
  • Assist with bands' equipment/lighting/sound
  • Work with sound and lighting professionals
Members should commit to working:
  • Friday, April 25th: 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

ALL SPOTS HAVE BEEN FILLED!

Option D - Sheehan Beach Festival Crew
Potential Duties:
  • Help setup or breakdown Field Festival
  • Assist with live bands performing
  • Run rides/games on the Field
  • Sell tickets on the Field
Members should commit to working:
  • Saturday, April 26th: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The 10:00 a.m. shift is full. Spaces still remain in the 2:00 p.m. shift!

Option E - Saturday Afternoon Concert Load-In Crew
Potential Duties:
  • Help load-in and setup for the concert
  • Assist with bands' equipment/lighting/sound
  • Work with sound and lighting professionals
Members should commit to working:
  • Saturday, April 26th: 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Option F - Concert Staff & Load-Out Crew
Potential Duties:
  • Help with ticketing, will-call and security
  • Assist with hospitality for performers during the concert
  • Afterwards, break down staging, lighting and sound systems
Members should commit to working:
  • Saturday, April 26th: 6:00 p.m. - end of Load-Out
